PORTRAIT OF EFL LEARNERS’ WRITINGS: ERRORS, CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

This study aimed to analyze EFL learners’ writings. It focused on portraying the most dominant grammatical and lexical errors in writing. also explored challenges alternative solutions from students’ perspectives. A qualitative approach terms of descriptive design was applied this study. The participants were thirty sophomores four different faculties a private university that selected using stratified random sampling. Writing test, questionnaire, interview instruments collect data. Collecting, identifying, classifying, describing modified data analysis stages used results revealed 445 111 found Limited knowledge grammar vocabulary, lack practice motivation, unsatisfactory writing skills are common challenges. students believed review feedback, various material, exercise assignment exposure, supporting technological tools anticipate errors, challenges, provide beneficial insights for lecturers formulate proper teaching methods, materials, activities
